Nara, Japan


This statue is of a disciple of Buddha who is supposed to have the power to cure ailments.  The myth is that if you have a physical ailment and touch the corresponding part on the statue and then touch your own body you will be cured.  So I touched the statues left knee and then touched my knee.  That and an ibuprofen made me feel better.
