Air Bangkok
The floods in Siem Reap were getting slightly worse so we left a day early and are in Bangkok. We flew in on a Bangkok air prop plane so it was a bit of an adventure. The plane flew so low we had a good look at the countryside. Also, lunch on a 55 minute flight. We don’t get that in the USA anymore. We saw some pretty extensive flooding along the way but Bangkok is dry and the news reports say that the flooding has crested so if we’re in luck we’ve escaped the floods.
We got in mid afternoon and got through immigration pretty quickly. No visa for American travelers. We took the direct airport to city train in and it was fast and cheap. Then transferred to the Metro to go a couple of stops to our hotel. We’re staying in the Sukhumvit section which is a very lively part of town. Tons of restaurants and shops. We walked around a bit exploring and I got a $7.50 haircut. It looks like a lot of interesting street food but we went to a nice restaurant for dinner. Came back and crashed.
