After a 12 hour plane ride we arrived in Seoul at dinner time. We were able to see a little of the countryside as we landed but darkness fell soon and we had a long dark ride to the city. The flight in Asiana Air was pretty easy and although it’s not a real luxury airline everything was nicely done, the food was pretty decent and they certainly gave us a lot of it. The seats were pretty comfortable. They did not convert to flat bed seats as Jim as long lusted after, but they did allow us to stretch out pretty well and we both were able to sleep. I watched three movies, Water for Elephants which I thought was quite good, The Lincoln Lawyer which I found disappointing although Matthew McConaghy makes a great sleazy lawyer, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows which I enjoyed, but didn’t get to see the end of because our flight was landing and they cut it off. Oh well, maybe I can catch up with it later. Our Seoul Hotel is nice and in a very lively neighborhood. Tomorrow we’re going to explore the subway and try to find our way around the city.
Glad you made it to Seoul. We loved having you visit Portland for your first stop off..........
